One of the biggest mistakes a leader can make is thinking their job is to have all the answers.
It isn’t.
I’ve learned a lot in my career by finding somebody who knew more than I did and asking questions.
That takes a little humility.
Good people aren’t looking for a boss who pretends they never make a mistake. They want somebody they can trust. Somebody who will listen, make a decision, own it when it’s wrong, and keep moving.
And when somebody on your team knows more about something than you do?
Good.
That’s why you hired them.
You don’t build a strong company by proving you’re the smartest person there.
You build one by putting good people around you, listening to them, and giving them room to do what they’re good at.
